In the very early 1980's Dr. Roncone was one of a small group of orthodontists who developed and refined braces that were placed on the inside of teeth to obtain maximum aesthetics. These invisible braces were a huge advance in orthodontics. Unfortunately, they were very difficult for the average orthodontist to use and obtain excellent results. Except for foreign countries, where people were not yet accustomed to braces on the outside, these lingual braces fell into disfavor and only a few U.S. orthodontists including Dr. Roncone, continued to use them.

In recent years clear plastic aligners have gained interest among the adult population especially as a means for straightening teeth without showing braces. Problems associated with these aligners; such as long treatment times, expense and compromised results led Dr. Roncone to develop with an international orthodontic sales and manufacturing company (GAC International) a new, small, accurate, less expensive alternative. MTM (Minor Tooth Movement) No Trace braces also work incredibly fast;weeks not years. Dr. Roncone even teaches other orthodontists around the world this technique.
