In-Ovation 'R' (Metal Braces)
In the high-tech age of orthodontics the In-Ovation "R" bracket is in Dr. Roncone's opinion the best. It has the ability to work with light force titanium wires which are activated by mouth/body temperature. The combination of bracket and wires allows teeth to move more quickly and with much less discomfort for the patient. Only 2 to 3 wires are necessary during treatment. This means that there are fewer appointments spaced farther apart. This has been great for the busy family because appointments are usually 8-14 weeks apart and yet treatment is shorter than in previous years. Dr. Roncone was most instrumental in introducing this long appointment internal to orthodontics in the 1980's. The "R" bracket requires no tie wires or colored ties to hold the main archwire in place. The reduced friction early in treatment and the bracket activation during the last few months of braces makes the "R" bracket unique among all of the "high-tech" brackets.
