Snoring can be aggravating to members of your family. Sleep Apnea can be life threatening, depending on the severity.
There are multiple methods of treatment. All have various degrees of success.
Soft Tissue (Palate) Surgery
This has very limited success in my experience (about 20%).
A device (mask) that fits over the face and is worn during sleep. This causes the positive flow of oxygen through the nose and mouth. It can be very effective, but many patients complain that it is uncomfortable.
Surgery which brings both upper and lower jaws forward in order to increase airway. This too is very successful, but is a major surgery.
Appliances worn at night, which brings the lower jaw and tongue into a more forward position to increase airway. These have different degrees of success.
Our office has been using a particular appliance that has very few, if any, side effects.
- Snoring can be stopped 95% of the time.
- Sleep apnea reduced significantly or completely almost 80% of the time.

I brought my children to see Dr Roncone and they actually left saying they loved that place. We just went to the initial consult and added spacers to both children in preparation for getting the extenders however the time Dr. Roncone spent with us was priceless.- Jamie B.
I loved Dr. Roncone and all the staff there. They treat you with immense care and make sure you are aware of everything going on and what's happening next and what the end product will be. They want to make their patients happy.- Laney G.
Having two children drastically needing orthodontic work I began researching for a doctor in our area and was very pleased to find Dr. Roncone. He and his staff are educated and make the children feel comfortable with their friendly personalities.- Abbey C.
The staff is incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and professional. I enjoyed each visit with them and marveled at the extensive office. Dr Roncone was extremely knowledgeable and thoroughly explained my treatment to me in terms that I could understand.- Tyra C.
